Good ambience. Cozy and not noisy like many other Chinese restaurants. Taste is quite authentic northern Chinese. There is room to improve on quality of ingredients. I will go again. One small group is waiting for table but the table besides us were leaving. The female manager kept watching our table and cane to ask if we want to pack our foods.
My son was still eating! I guess it is a restaurant for you to eat and go like a fast food restaurant. Definitely not a place for you to entertain. Very good dinning area. Wait for over 1 hour for bun. At end of meal still not coming. This led to the firm starting operations in both Chicago and San Francisco, where Templeton lived.
OpenTable began as a software as a service SaaS company, providing reservation software to restaurants of various types. Most restaurants or even host booths without electricity lack a functional internet connection, so OpenTable began providing installation services to those with this problem.
The establishment of a restaurant network was, however, necessary to develop a consumer-facing reservation service. Additionally, the business continued to add to its balance sheet to fund its continuous expansion initiatives.
Nonetheless, OpenTable continued to consume funds at an alarming rate. OpenTable laid off of its employees as a result of the Series C announcement. The company had to lay off employees to become profitable — and eventually function. OpenTable launched the consumer-facing aspect of the business in the latter half of , allowing others to reserve tables on the website which was online at the time. The company focused on expanding its network of eateries and food enthusiasts over the next few years.
Templeton left the company a year later, in June , to pursue other entrepreneurial activities. One of the primary growth drivers for OpenTable was the November debut of its iPhone application the Android app was launched in September Booking tables on mobile devices became highly profitable when people could book them while on the move. Smartphones were the ideal platform for on-demand services, whether it was hailing a cab via Uber or booking a place to stay via Airbnb.
Booking tables on Yelp is, for example, already available in June These offers were powered by OpenTable in the backend. The announcement was all the more startling given that OpenTable had only introduced its review system two years prior and thus directly competed with Yelp.
Furthermore, the capital infusion provided by the IPO enabled OpenTable to purchase other various companies. Toptable was primarily focused on the European market.
The business benefited, however, from its dominant position in the market. Additionally, it continues to provide the greatest possible support to its restaurant partners. It also entered the payments market, which went hand in hand with many consumer tech companies. Rumors began to circulate about a possible acquisition. There were rumors that Yahoo was interested in acquiring the company to expand its offerings.
The Nasdaq stock exchange subsequently delisted the company. For example, it launched loyalty programs in which members are rewarded with hotel booking credits.
Nonetheless, OpenTable did not develop in the manner in which Booking had intended. The food was good but we were instead for the ambience and for the cocktails. We had chicken dish that was very good and really well prepared with crispy skin and tender meat. We also had the baked Alaska dessert which should not be missed!!! Not a real restaurant the food was awful. Throughout the 2hr pain trip I was never asked how anything was. Food was slimy and hard to eat.
Don't go. Great food. Fantastic specialty cocktails. Astounding service. Highly recommend. I really enjoyed the cocktails, and the food was excellent. A great addition to the UES scene. The interior is classy if moody, and you definitely feel like you are having a high quality night out.
Good value for the money, also: I was stuffed and my friend and I shared three small plates. The food was pretty good, but the place was weird in a few ways. First, my sister ordered a club soda with lime, and the server informed us they don't have fresh limes. At a place that's all about cocktails? So they brought it to her with a slice of dehydrated lime. Then we ordered lots of things to share and at least three of them were garnished with some kind of dehydrated citrus.
It was like some strange calling card that made no sense. I still can't get past a cocktail restaurant not having lime juice. But the food was good. I live a block away and have visited Seamstress pretty often. The ambiance, service, food and drinks were wonderful. I especially liked the fried cauliflower appetizer. They also have happy hour drinks which was nice.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and will be back. This is a great place for a date night, anniversary or getting with friends from out of town. The food was outstanding. The cocktails were even better. Visited Seamstress on Saturday evening and was looking forward to dining there for the second time.
Second time was not the charm! Their signature crispy potatoes arrived mushy instead of crispy. Calamari arrived cold. We ordered entrees, however, after being served appetizers, waiter arrived to ask us if we wanted dessert!! We reminded him we were waiting for our entrees, which arrived about 30 minutes later!!
Come on, Seamstress There are much better restaurants out there with the same high-priced food choices in much nicer environs. They should have better wines in reasonable price ranges. Priceline is founded. Chuck Templeton founds OpenTable after noticing "the difficulty his wife faced while trying to book a dinner reservation by phone. Needless to say, investors weren't happy. July: Priceline acquires Booking. According to their S-1 , there were 30, reservation-taking restaurants in the US at the time.
OpenTable claimed 10, of them as customers. The Wall Street Journal called it "better than expected. Early According to the San Francisco Chronicle , OpenTable "seated more than 22 million diners at restaurants worldwide" in the first quarter of Meanwhile, competitors like Urbanspoon's Rez have started to pop up.
Priceline announces that Kayak will continue "independent operations" under its current management as in the OpenTable acquisition in OpenTable CEO Matthew Roberts tells All Things D that Foodspotting will continue to exist as an app and that "the more deeper integration will happen in the other direction," as in adding photos to menus on the OpenTable site or to confirmation emails.
July: OpenTable "partners" with competitor Urbanspoon's reservation service. OpenTable acquires UrbanSpoon's Rezbook reservation system, which was launched in as a more affordable option for online reservation making. The terms of the deal are undisclosed.
